An usher is a church representative who plays a significant role in the smooth running of the church by ensuring that the church is ready for any worship service.

The usher is also there to provide timely information for church members and visitors. Ushers are people of integrity, who are well established in the word of God and above all, willing to serve in the house of God. “Not in the way of eye-service (as if they were watching you) and only to please men, but as servants (Slaves) of Christ, doing the will of God heartily and with your whole soul;

Rendering service readily with goodwill, as to the lord and not to men Ephesians 6:6-7” You must have a personal relationship with God, having accepted Jesus Christ as your personal lord and saviour.

“For a day in your courts is better than a thousand (anywhere else); I would rather be a doorkeeper (Usher) and stand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell (at ease) in the tents of wickedness.” Psalm 84:10.
